A Personal Approach

Working in the sports and leisure industry for over 17 years Kay has a deep understanding of fitness and leisure and as a keen dancer and runner, with a love of yoga and meditation, she practices what she preaches.

The techniques she uses for her own clients have been used for her own treatment and recovery. Kay loves to run and is a keen experience seeker, taking part in Hastings’ one and only marathon event, Brighton’s first ever Marathon and the notoriously challenging Beachy Head Marathon. Kay has recently taken part in a Dance show in Eastbourne, trekked through the jungle in Cambodia for charity and is taking part in her first Triathlon in August!  She regularly takes part in a strength and conditioning regime, favoring kettlebells as her training tool.

Kay uses a variety of techniques including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, mobilisations, stretching, rehabilitation and home care techniques to provide the best care and treatment possible. Her aim is to treat you holistically, as an individual and provide care and professionalism at all times. She is an advocate of movement and exercise, particularly in promoting healthy change and the recovery from pain.

‘Kay has the intuitive skills to guide you to what you need’
Jane, Medical Advisor

Kay works with a variety of clients from marathon runners, powerlifters to office workers, teachers and the retired. It doesn’t matter whether you are a sports person or not, if you have a pain condition, Kay is looking forward to helping you.

The goal is not only to reduce your pain, but to find and treat the cause and to look at self-treatment and lifestyle changes that reduce the chances of your condition returning. Her understanding of the mind leading to stresses within the body enables her to look ‘holistically’ and intuitively at the person she is treating as well as using her ‘scientific’ knowledge which underpins her treatment.

Teaching you to care for yourself

Kay’s aim is to empower her clients to treat and manage their own pain condition. The more you can do to help yourself the better. However, everyone is unique and their needs and capabilities are taken into consideration. During the initial consultation, a discussion on what you would like to achieve from the session will take place. For example, some would like to spend some time at the end of the session covering home-care techniques and others would like to make use of the time for a longer treatment. Sessions are tailor- made to suit you.

Always Learning

Keen to continue her professional development, Kay is always striving for excellence within her ‘tool’ box and therefore seeks out the best training providers for her further study. Initially training with the Wilbury School of Natural therapy as a Holistic Massage Therapist, she then went on to study for Sports Massage, gaining a thorough understanding of massage as a therapeutic tool as well as remedial. She has since studied with the ‘Jing’ Institute and OMT London, both internationally recognised training providers leading cutting edge advanced courses for Massage Therapists and Bodyworkers.

She has recently studied Table Thai massage which adds a unique and powerful dimension to her treatment. She is also qualified in Medical Acupuncture/Dry Needling which is a truly powerful technique that can be used as a standalone treatment or combined with her other techniques.
